MIXvoip fully supports the PAP2 ATA models from Linksys including voice compressions by using the g729 codec. You do not need to configure every parameter from the PAP2 ATA as MIXvoip has implemented the automatic provisioning/configuration feature.

Configuration instructions

If you have purchased the PAP2 from MIXvoip you can ignore the first 2 steps.

Get the IP Address of the PAP2

You need the IP address of the Linksys PAP2 to configure it. Connect your analog phone to port one and dial **** (four stars) followed by 110#. A voice will now dictate you the IP address.


Put the provisioning URL into the PAP2

  • Start your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari ...) and enter the the IP address of the Linksys PAP2 into the address bar of the browser.
  • Click on "Admin login"
  • Switch to the advanced view by clicking on "Basic View (switch to advanced view)"
  • Click on "Provisionning"
  • Put the following url http://pbxapi.mixvoip.com//deployments/linksysata?mac=$MAC into the "Profile Rule" field
  • Click on Save

Define the MAC address in the MIXvoip webinterface

Login to your MIXvoip account on http://www.mixvoip.com and access the "Account settings" page. Put the MAC address of the Linksys PAP2 into the MAC address field. Click on "Apply" to confirm your changes.

The MAC address can be found on the back of your PAP2 device.

Change the priority of the G729 codec

Login to your MIXvoip account on http://www.mixvoip.com and access the "VoIP settings" page and make sure that the G729 codec is chosen as codec number 1.

Troubleshooting

Incoming calls are not working

If incoming calls are not working you need to make sure that the DDI parameter is disabled. Login to your MIXvoip account on http://www.mixvoip.com and access the "VoIP settings" page. The DDI parameter must not be selected.


You are asked for a password to access the Linksys PAP2 after auto configuration

We automatically secure your device and you need the following data to access your PAP2.

Username: user
Password: the password of your MIXvoip account
