The MixPBX can act as a gateway between your existing PBX and the telecoms network. The purpose of this solution is to use voice over IP for outgoing calls without making big changes to your existing infrastructure. Voice over IP calls can be used to call other company offices for free or to benefit from MIXvoip's very low call rates (http://www.mixvoip.com/callrates)

A failover switch increases redundancy and availability

An BRI/ISDN or PRI failover switch can be used to remove the MixPBX from the routing chain. This can be especially useful in the case of a maintenance or software upgrade.
